Michael is an origami artist based in Sydney, Australia. He has been a practicing artist since 1984, when his sister returned from Japan with origami paper. Shortly after, he met his wife Etsuko and they began The Origami People together. They began by selling their goods at markets and for nearly thirty years until she passed away in 2016, they worked together on art installations, advertisements, and education.

Michael continues to work as an origami teacher in a variety of settings: corporate events, community work, and with children. He has worked on print and film advertisements with clients including Commonwealth Bank, McDonalds, and Xerox. Through The Origami People, he has sold cards and earrings with stockists including boutiques and gallery shops around Australia.
